Pamica AB to acquire a majority interest in Somna AB

Somna AB is a Swedish company that develops, produces, and distributes cognitive devices. These products are mainly handmade and are created on the basis of scientific studies of the relaxing impact of weight and pressure. The products are designed to relieve anxiety, agitation, insomnia, and improve life quality.

The products are designed to relieve anxiety, agitation, insomnia, and depression. Somna is a market leader within the category of weight blankets with its patented product the Somna Blanket. The company’s strong product positioning within the health sector combined with great product development and long experience of producing have been contributing to the great profitable platform for growth. For the moment, the market sales are dominating in Sweden, while the products are well designed for the international cognitive devices market as well as for the consumer market.
Up to the investment, Mats Dorring entered as a shareholder and CEO. Mats have spent most of his career within medical products. After a few years at Molnlycke in Sweden and USA, Mats developed during 16 years the company Cefar, which sells products within muscle stimulation and pain relief. In December 2016, Mats completed a lasting case for Comfort Audio, which is a producer of hearing aids. The company was acquired by Sonova AG in 2015.
“I have a passion for unique companies within the medical technology industry, who with patented products and innovative drive have international potential,” says Mats in his introduction for the Somna AB’s employees located in Stenkullen, north of Gothenburg. “I have been working with therapists physiotherapist my whole life and I can see Somna’s great potential. The assortment of products are scientifically proved in clinical studies. The sale potential within EU and close markets are wide since the products are well aimed for all consumer segments.”
In the interim of the investment of Somna, the Ramer family leave the company after successfully been developing it since 2009. Today, Somna has 15 employees, revenue of SEK 50m, with great profitability.
